12. The 9/11 Memorial and Museum
On September 11, 2001, the twin towers of the World Trade Centre dominated the Skyline of Manhattan but were destroyed. where the towers stood then, now stand two square reflecting pools. The 9/11 memorial and museum is also known as the National September 11 memorial. The area stands as a respectful tribute towards the 3000 people killed at the tragic incident.
With the names of people martyred in the incident, the water of the pool flows into the bottomless pool without limit. The memorial also boasts of being the largest man-made waterfalls of North America. The area where the memorial museum is located is architecturally immaculate and consists of a curving glass building.
The museum defines its goals to providing relevant learning opportunities for people interested and conduct public programs that explore the impacts of 9/11 in the world. The exhibits of the museum include photos, videos, and artifacts that relate to the story of 9/11. Educators and instructors working in the museum have devoted their lives to spreading awareness about terrorism and its impacts around the world.
