13. The High Line.
The high line is a railway line that has been now recently transformed into a walking trail that stretches above the streets of New York City. With its unique linear public Park and flowering blooms, the place is as lively as its name speaks. The fascinating part about the trail is that it is lined with glass railings, which lets tourists have an unobstructed view of the City.
The height of the high line is not too high and goes only about two to three stories from the ground level. However, its short height does not keep it from indulging the tourists walking on it with the immaculate view. There are several art installations, benches, and articulate seating arrangements spread along the way. The trail is used a lot and is business on weekends, speaking more than we need to know about how much people like it.
The Highline recognizes its aims and goals to re-imagine the role of public spaces in promoting connectedness among people and togetherness in neighborhoods. The trail is 100% non-profit and operates solely with the help of donations given by people.
