13. Glessner House
The Glessner house of Chicago has won itself great recognition as a building of outstanding historical importance. Not only did it mark a sudden change in architecture from Victorian to domestic but also has it now been renowned worldwide as Chicago’s most historical building. The building was designed in the late 19th century by architect Henry Hobson Richardson. The speciality of the structure is that it diverted from the traditional Victorian style of architecture in a time where it was most popular. it is a well preserved l shaped house which has English style interiors along with heavy wooden beams and more than 80% of the furnishings are generally based on the family photos that are owned by the family, Glessner
