15. Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum
A part of the Lincoln park, the Peggy Notebaert Museum is Chicago’s first ever nature and science museum. Some of its popular attractions include displays of the historical advances in ecology of Illinois and the butterfly house. More importantly, the museum also features and displays a greenhouse for educational and reawakening reasons. More than 200 species of exotic butterflies are bred and raised in this museum. Other than this, the museum occasionally hosts programmes and exhibitions for kids and adults, so that may no heart go untouched by the beauty of nature. Some programmes offered for touring include the Wilderness Walk, Butterfly Haven, City science house, Water lab, et cetera. The museum recognises its aim to rebuild the love for nature among adults and enlighten young minds towards the glory of nature, and to restore the relationship between humans, animals and plants. Celebrating the rich ecological history of Illinois is just as important as others. To regenerate affection in the lives of children, the museum hosts several activities and exhibitions for the local kids.
